Review of Palais The, Nottingham
Corporate clubbing for the masses. Not my scene but then again I'm neither a rug–chested–cheese merchant nor a shag–starved slapper – debatable – Ed –. Most of you will either have been to the Palais or somewhere similar before, and if you're into swaggering around to commercial dance music whilst getting utterly mullered, and are of an 'if it moves, shag it' mentality, then you'll be going back regardless of what I say. What, even with your buckled shoes, chino's, pink shirts, boob tubes etc etc.

Rescue Rooms
Kind of a three trick pony this one – bar, live venue and club all in one. It's brought to Nottingham by the people behind Rock City – and if anyone knows how to go about running a gig venue, these chaps do. The 500 capacity bridges the gap between bigger and smaller venues in Notti Read more about Rescue Rooms
Rock City
Buff up that medallion and grease down those leather pants – it's time to rock. Irrefutably one of the best rock clubs in the country, this huge venue is regularly packed to the rafters with rock chicks and cock-rock love gods. While the main room looks like a Spinal Tap convention, the s Read more about Rock City
The Chameleon
By day, a little tea room above Clinton Cards; by night, an explosive music venue. When the Chameleon comes out to play, the curtains of the thirty-odd capacity room remain firmly closed, and while high ceilings lend an air of faded grandeur, general grime overrides. Broken sofas and a 'stage Read more about The Chameleon

The Irish Centre
The Irish isn't going to win any style awards. Looking somewhere between a run down parish church hall and a working men's club, there are precarious-looking seats around the outside, presumably to collapse onto when you've finished dancing on the tables in the middle. Your co-dancers... Read more about The Irish Centre
The Irish Centre
A dress code that clearly stipulates pants must be worn on head and trousers around ankles is usually confirmation of student club status. Whilst impromptu full monties are actually a rarity, the kind of high jinks usualll associated with partying students is commonplace here, and that means shambol... Read more about The Irish Centre
The Irish Centre
The Irish as it's more commonly called is not trendy, clean, cheap or even particularly easy to find. Despite this, it's well worth grabbing your map and compass and venturing to the dark side of the Broad Marsh area to see just how silly you can get when surrounded by others... 'Conrads' Nottingham's premier Lap dancing venue is conveniently located in the city centre with in easy reach of the key bars and restaurants. Since opening in the millennium the club has become a popular choice for the gentlemen, and boasts some of the most beautiful ladies on the l... Read more about conrads
Faces
I don't actually own a copy, so I couldn't tell you on which mage of the PFA players handbook it states that upon visiting Nottingham all professional footballers must converge in Faces nightclub, but it's definitely in there. Personally, I wouldn't show my arse in here, never mi... Read more about Faces

Mode Lounge Bar and Club
Opening night here saw Norman Jay – MBE – and Trevor Nelson spinning the decks to an up for it crowd which was a real sign of things to come for this new kkid in town. With not one but two student nights, visits from the likes of Miss Moneypenny's and Judge Jules, Friday's Dirt... Read more about Mode Lounge Bar and Club
Snug
Snug is a laidback club for all you nice, young trendies who like to show off your moves without breaking out into too much of a sweat. If you're at that stage of the night where the only way to stop you nodding off is to dance then the upstairs room, almost completely a dancefloor, will do the... Read more about Snug
Oceana
Oceana in Nottingham has been the mecca for partying people, the happy, the sad, the single for over forty years. Now it has an international theme, incorporating Sydney and Paris. Oh yeah, it's classy. It even has a champagne reception bar that somewhat disguises the shabby revamp attempt of 2... Read more about Oceana
The Edge
Since it opened, a year and a half ago, Edge has established itself as a genuine alternative for the city's clubbers. It perhaps hasn't had the same piles of cash poured into it as other recent additions to Nottingham's club scene, but the clean and minimal decor serve the purpose mo... Read more about The Edge
